音楽詩劇研究所の舞台作品『さんしょうだゆう』（カザフスタン公演・韓国公演、2019年）のために制作した複数の映像作品。
カザフスタンやウズベキスタンなど中央アジアには、1937年にスターリンによってロシア極東から強制移住させられた朝鮮半島にルーツを持つ「高麗人（コリョサラム）」と呼ばれる人々が多く暮らしている（1937年以前に朝鮮半島から極東の沿海州に多くの人々が移住していた背景には、日本の植民地支配も関係している）。
本作品は、自身も同様のルーツを持つロシア人ダンサーのアリーナ・ミハイロヴァとともに、カザフスタンに暮らす高麗人を訪ねたドキュメント映像と、「山椒大夫」の主要登場人物である安寿と厨子王らしき男女が父を探して現代の東京を旅するフィクション形式の映像から構成される。
This film work was created for MPDLab’s theater performance Sanshō Dayū in Kazakhstan and Korea in 2019.
Central Asia, such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, is inhabited by a large number of people called ‘Koryo-saram’ who have roots in the Korean peninsula who were forced to relocate from the Far East of the Soviet Union by Stalin in 1937. One of the reasons why many Koreans left the Korean Peninsula for the Russian Far East before 1937 was Japanese colonization.
I and several members of the theater company visited Koryo-saram in Kazakhstan and interviewed them together with Alina Mikhailova, a Russian dancer who has similar roots to them.
This film work mainly consists of two elements:
One is the fragments from the interview video mentioned above and the dance footage that Alina performed on the Bastobe hill at the end of the interview trip.
Another is a drama-style film of a young man and woman looks like Anju and Zushio — brother and sister who are the main characters in “Sansho Dayu” — traveling through modern Tokyo in search of their father.

ソウル公演（『さんしょうだゆう in コリア』）では、韓国で広く知られる物語「沈清伝」の要素も組み込み、舞台作品全体の内容や構成を大幅に改編。それに伴い「山椒大夫」の物語が近現代のユーラシア大陸を経由して「沈清伝」の物語と現代の東京へと接続する新たな映像作品を制作した。
At the performance in Seoul, Republic of Korea, we have significantly recreated the entire stage performance to incorporate the elements of “The Tale of Sim Chong” which is well-known Korean story.
Along with that, I created a new film work for the story of “Sansho Dayu” connects to the world of “The Tale of Sim Chong” and Tokyo today via the modern Eurasian continent.
